Leading our team is Dr. Melody Stone, a board-certified dermatologist renowned for her exceptional skills and dedication to patient care. Dr. Stone's expertise ensures that our center remains at the forefront of dermatological innovation, offering state of the art treatments and compassionate care tailored to each patient's unique needs.
Melody Stone, M.D., FAAD
Dr. Stone obtained her medical degree from the University of Missouri Internal Medicine and completed her internship at Brown University. She completed her dermatological residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Stone completed her Preceptorship in Mohs Surgery in Kansas City. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Mohs Surgery and the Kansas and Missouri Dermatological Societies. She has also performed dermatology research at Yale University, publishing many journal articles and chapters for dermatology textbooks. Her greatest satisfaction is derived from knowing that along with her staff, she has helped her patients by providing the highest standard of care with a warm smile and a compassionate touch.
Austin Shandley is a Physician Assistant joining the Advanced Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center team on 2018. He is a native of St. Joseph and is excited to serve his home community. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia before pursing his graduate degree at Missouri State University 2014.
Presently, Practicing as a Physician Assistant in a thriving Dermatology practice with a board certified dermatologist and another mid-level provider
• Lab monitoring, surgical treatments and medication management
• Extensive patient education experience in prevention and treatment of skin cancers and disorders
• Performing intermediate and complex closures of MOHS surgical wounds
• Trained in Superficial Radiation Therapy evaluation and treatment
• Specialized training in diagnosing and treating multiple skin conditions
including acne, psoriasis, eczema, and many others
